In September we will launch our new Youth Discipleship Program for the high school students at Westminster Chapel.
Any high school student who is affiliated with Westminster Youth is encouraged to participate!
Meeting twice a month as a youth group is great, and we're going to keep it up. But I think our youth need more. A Christian life is a life of discipleship, always learning and growing in Christ. This can be especially difficult in high school! So, I want to supplement our Youth Nights by developing stronger discipling relationships between High School youth and the Westminster youth leaders. The youth leaders can walk alongside the youth, encouraging them, giving them an ear when needed, and teaching them about the Christian life.
Students who agree to participate in the program will be placed in a discipleship group, each group with its own leader (boys with boys, girls with girls). The leader will arrange a monthly meeting with students in their group (3-5 students per group). During the month, students will study a book of Scripture with the aim of knowing Jesus Christ better. Throughout the month, leaders will maintain contact with each student, pray for them, and encourage them. Meetings will be spent talking about the Scriptures and about what's going on in the lives of the youth. Additionally, the leaders will have their own regular discipleship meetings, with a focus on prayer for the youth. If you have any questions, please contact Joshua Martin.
